The Need and How to Fight Effectively

Text: Revelation 12:1-17

INTRODUCTION:
There is need to fight based on the revelation in the above passage. May be this is the reason why Jesus Christ our Lord said "And from the days of the John Baptist until now the Kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force" Matthew 11:12.

  1. THE NEED TO FIGHT:
There following are some reasons why we must fight in this world.
  • There is a battle - cry in the spiritual realm Rev 12:1-7.
  • There must be resistance against the onslaught of the enemy Rev 12:7-8
  • Because victory is sweet and pleasant to celebrate Rev 12:9-12
  • The celebration of victory also attracts further attack of the enemy Rev 12:13-17
     2. HOW TO FIGHT EFFECTIVELY:

Apostle Paul wrote: "Know ye not that they which run in a race run all but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain. And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but win an incorruptible. I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air" (1 Cor 9:24-26). In the light of the above-quoted Bible passage, the following are ways of fighting effectively for lasting victory.
  • You must fight with focus 1 Corinthians 9:26
  • You must fight with sobriety and perseverance 2 Timothy 2:3-4
  • You must fight lawfully 2Timothy 2:5; Acts 5:38-39
  • You must fight in faith Nehemiah 4:11-23: What type of faith? The faith that works James 2:17-26
  • You must fight in the power which is in the blood of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ Rev 12:11
CONCLUSION:

In the light of the foregoing, shall we pray for the willingness to fight, wisdom to fight and power which is in the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. However, if you have not allowed Jesus Christ to be Lord over your life, you are bound to lose this battle but may God forbid. Therefore, come to Jesus today while the rest of us go to God in prayer for the ability to fight lawfully, with focus, sobriety and perseverance, in faith and with His blood as our potent weapon against the enemy.

God bless you
